a puppy. I think our parents just stopped breathing, I am so mean! But really we are getting a puppy. Rob and I put down the deposit last night! Our friends, the
Tyner's, have 7 lab puppies that were born on March 15
th. The
Tyner's dog is named Ginger and I told them two years ago that when she has puppies that we want one, I did not really know Ginger was pregnant so when I got the email we were caught off guard. But we thought about it for several days and got a lot of expert opinions on getting another dog and we finally decided that now would be the perfect time.
Ginger is such a sweet dog and is small, the two most important thing in my book. The sire (Rob would be proud of my dog breeding lingo), whose name is Trouble, (check him out
http://www.eurekalabradors.com/) is an award winning show dog and also avid duck hunter, perfect for Rob. We have reserved the right to have the first female yellow pick, there are 3 females and two of those are yellow. We will probably get to pick her up on May 4
th. Now we just have to pick a name and wait! Any suggestions on names would be greatly appreciated, our 3 year old neighbor suggested
Puscuss, I hope we can come up with something better than that. I have a lot more pictures of the pups on Picasa Web:

Momma and all of her babies, and Rebecca Tyner looking on.

Momma and baby. That is one of the yellow girls. The
Tyners have named this one
Orabelle for the time being. I think she is Rob's favorite but who knows what will happen in 4 weeks.

This one is Willie T, it is a boy. We had been dead set on getting a girl until we saw him. He is beautiful! He is solid white and little, both things we are looking for. But we decided to go with our first instinct and stick with the girls. The family that gets him is going to be very lucky.

This is just such a cute picture. The one with the red ribbon is the other girl, they have named her Rosie for now. She is just as cute as Orabelle, how will we choose!
We can't forget about Tucker! I think Tucker is sending a message to the new puppy about all of her toys and who they belong too. All of our expert advice has come to one conclusion, Tucker will be fine with another dog. In fact many people say that dogs are not truly happy unless they have another dog to be friends with, I have never really thought about that but it is a good point. The other thing we have learned is that Tucker will definitely be the "boss" of the new puppy.
