WARNING!!!!!

Rob and I had a horrible experience last night and I feel it my duty to share it so it won't happen to you. We put out mole poison in our backyard yesterday evening. You punch a mole mound and drop a few pellets in and then cover it back up. Well we were smart the first time Tuck had to tee tee and we took her out on her leash to the front yard, but the second time we weren't too smart. We let her out in the backyard for about 10 minutes. About an hour later she begins to throw up, which is not a normal occurrence with her. So upon closer review we discover that she has dug up one of the mole poison spots, we have not idea how much she ate. We called the emergency vet on call at 10 p.m. and he said to rush her in. Once he had a chance to look up the type of poison online he let us know that we needed to prepare ourselves because this was more than likely going to have a bad outcome, essentially she was going to die. Rob and I were floored! We had to leave her overnight at the office with an IV in. I did not sleep at all last night. We met him at the office at 7:30 a.m. and she had pulled through the night!!!

After staying on IV fluids all day she is going to be fine, no long term effects expected.

The on-call vet was not our normal vet but he was wonderful! Tucker owes him her life. He met us at 10 p.m., stayed with her till 12 p.m. and came back at 4 a.m. to check her, and showed up before office hours to check her again and meet us. On top of all of that he had to go to his grandmother's funeral out of town this morning! He is great at what he does and totally understands how people can feel about their dogs. He comes highly recommended!

I will NEVER buy any type of poison for my home again as long as I live! What if she had died or even worse what if a child had ingested it!
